new work submissions
Joshua Robson Productions is opening their new work submission window from Nov 17th-Dec 1st. We are looking for writers with projects at various stages of development.
We are a growing company, and with the knowledge that music theatre development takes time, we are aiming to expand our artist support over the next two years. There is no restriction on experience in writing; from debut writers to those already published, and those from other writing backgrounds who are open to exploring music theatre. We are looking for artists with interesting ideas, and it’s our job to help guide those ideas through development and to the stage.
ELIGIBILITY
Music Theatre is our primary focus as a company, however we will consider plays where music or movement plays a significant part in the story and atmosphere.
We are open to ideas at various stages of development, from finished shows, to new concepts – however any pitch decks would be best accompanied with a script sample, song demo, or examples of your previous work.
The project must not have had a professional season*
Artists may submit more than one project, however we encourage artists to consider projects that are their current focus. Each project must be a separate submission via the portal.
Any adaptations must already have rights secured.
We are looking for potential, not perfection.

*(We define professional season as having a week or more of shows where the cast and creatives were paid profit share or equity terms)
We have a small development fund with various levels of support available and while we wish had a greater capacity, we won’t be able to offer feedback to every artists who submits. Our aim is that all artists will hear back from the team by the end of 2025.
